Business or "self-employment"?

* The calculations use the average data for the World

One of the main questions that a novice entrepreneur should answer is: “Are you going to engage in“ business as business ”or“ business as self-employment ”?

Over the past two decades, the world has become so dynamic that we sometimes do not keep up with the understanding of the events that take place properly, do not notice certain business trends, often draw the wrong conclusions, make not the right decisions, as a result, we are moving in the wrong direction.

And where, in fact, should one move? The question is not idle and everyone is trying to answer it “in their own way”. Sometimes with mistakes, sometimes without ...

Remember the "parody of a bad detective" by Vladimir Vysotsky? There was such a funny text:

“And for this, my friend drunk, ” he told Epiphanes, “

There will be money, a house in Chicago, a lot of women and cars ...-

The enemy did not know, fool, - the one to whom he entrusted everything,

He was a Chekist, intelligence major and a wonderful family man. ”

Many women and cars - this, of course, is good, however ... We must learn to earn money, not everyone can sell their “homeland” like Epiphanes. And this is not so simple. This science is given (for making money) not to everyone. Some are not given at all, but try it! Wage labor is good, but self-employment is even better! At least the person who has taken responsibility for his life is worthy of respect. And one of the questions that a budding entrepreneur must answer is the following:

Are you going to do “business as business” or “business as self-employment”?

If someone does not see a fundamental difference, I explain. By its latent logic, business always implies “development”. Today you have one tray, tomorrow ten, the day after tomorrow the store, etc. Self-employment is also a business, but its specificity is that this business is not just not striving for “development”, there are not even such plans. In other words, today you have one stall, then tomorrow you have one stall, in general, you always have “one stall”! At the same time, you can make good money, grow fat, but you will always have “one conditional stall” and no more.

Therefore, you need to clearly understand, feel, the fundamental difference between business and self-employment. I don’t mean at all to say that self-employment is bad, no. It’s just that these are different approaches to business and in difficult times, which are rapidly approaching (thanks to our glorious rulers), “self-employment as a business” is very good, especially if it is a family business! There is great scope for creativity in regulating the functions of workers, their income and expenses. At the same time, the relative doesn’t “bounce back”, as he is unlikely to be offered a higher-paying job in another place, unless, of course, he is an outstanding specialist. So there should not be problems with personnel (as in many enterprises).

So, what businesses can conditionally be attributed to "self-employment"? First of all, these are tray businesses, chicken grills, shoe repair, refilling cartridges, tutoring, mushroom cultivation and more. Why is that? Because in such businesses there is the so-called "technological dead end" which can be found in more detail here.

The meaning of this "dead end" is that "physically", and "technologically" can not be refilled per day, for example, 1 refueler 1, 000 cartridges. Or it is impossible to grow more from a certain area of mushrooms (tomatoes, cucumbers, greens) than existing technologies provide for today. In this regard, it is necessary either to “expand” the business (which also includes financial injections) or to work as it worked. Sooner or later, for many, this question begins to emerge from everyday fuss, and the answer to it comes either quickly or belatedly. But let's hope that this is not the case when ... the delay in death is similar.
