Opening of the production of packaging tape

Household products. Production and sale Souvenir products and stationery

Adhesive tape (adhesive tape) is a polypropylene film coated on one (two) side with acrylic adhesive, which serves to glue various surfaces. It is difficult to overestimate the value of adhesive tape and the demand for it, because it is used in various types of industry: in furniture production, for packaging and, of course, adhesive tape is an integral part of any office.

In Russia, such companies as Hector LLC, Mona LLC, Promupak LLC, etc. are engaged in the production of adhesive tape. They produce adhesive tape of various purposes and types (packaging, painting, aluminum, reinforced, abrasion resistant, automotive, office ) According to the report of the Academy of Industrial Market Studies “Market of adhesive tapes based on BOPP films in Russia”, the consumption of adhesive tape per capita in Russia in 2010 amounted to about 0.2 kg, which is three times less than in the United States and almost 4 times less than in Western Europe. The largest place in the sales market is occupied by packaging tape. Its manufacture is the best start of the adhesive tape business.

Equipment, technology, raw materials

The standard tape widths are 48mm and 50mm. The width of the packing tape is 72mm and 75mm, industrial - 50mm x 990m, 75mm x 990m. The length of the tape can vary from 5 to 990 meters. The thickness of the polypropylene base is about 25 microns.

The main physical parameter determining the quality of adhesive tape is adhesion (“sticking”, “adhesion”) to the surface. It depends on the adhesive composition that is applied to the adhesive tape film. The best characteristics for the manufacture of high-quality adhesive tape have acrylic adhesive. Rubber glue is also used. It retains its properties even at temperature extremes, which allows it to be used for packaging various products. The thickness of the adhesive layer ranges from 10 to 30 microns. It is she who is the main indicator of the qualitative composition of adhesive tape.

The production of ordinary packaging tape in a full cycle takes place in several stages. First you need to prepare the basis for the adhesive tape: a jumbo roll (it is made of BOPP film (biaxially oriented polypropylene), corona on both sides, with a thickness of 23 to 28 microns) and a cardboard sleeve. The sleeve is made as follows: the bobbin-cutting machine cuts the cardboard role, and the sleeve-winding machine winds and glues the sleeve with a diameter of about 76.2 mm and a thickness of 3 mm.

The next step is to apply glue to the film. To do this, the jumbo roll is placed in a coating machine. The last step is the production of adhesive tape itself, which can be carried out in a one-stage or two-stage scheme.

In the first case, reel-cutting machines are used, which are immediately rewound and pneumatic cutters cut the rolls into tape tape. Using a specialized device, you can increase the productivity of the slitter: it allows you to immediately put a cardboard sleeve on the shaft and connect it with tape. The machine makes one roller of such a tape in 1 -1.3 seconds.

In a two-stage scheme, two machines are used: rewind and cutting. The machine cuts the cardboard sleeve into small bushes, then the cardboard sleeve installation machine puts them on the shafts of the machine by cutting tape, where a jumbo roll is fixed, which diverges into 26 tapes and is distributed among the bushes. After winding is completed, the shafts are removed and installed in the machine for installing bushings on the shafts, from which the finished rollers with adhesive tape are removed. Sometimes when cutting and winding tape, tape is shifted, to remove this drawback, you can use the machine to rewind defective rollers.

The full cycle described by us is not profitable for beginners, since the purchase of equipment for the manufacture of parts of adhesive tape will lead to significant costs. You will have to buy a machine for making a jumbo roll (about $ 23, 000), a machine for cutting cardboard and for the production of bushings (about $ 35, 000), and also pay for the work of operators. The cost of a sleeve of its own production is 30-50% less than the purchase, and it will also be possible to print various logos on it. But, despite these advantages, it is cheaper for a beginner to buy these goods.

Own rewinding and cutting of adhesive tape allows you to benefit from the following points: you can put the logos of your company or customer's company, which will expand the circle of consumers. It will also be possible to vary the size of adhesive tape to order, which will give your company a favorable position in the sales market.

Production of branded adhesive tape (with print, logo) is possible using two methods: top and bottom (interlayer) printing. Top printing is a surface drawing using a cliche on a ready-made adhesive tape. The lower seal is applied to the rolls before it is cut into rollers and it is located between the polypropylene film and glue, which prevents the erasure of the picture. Printing by a special machine, in which you can load ink of several colors.

The approximate cost of jumbo rolls in Russia when ordering a 40 foot container (25-26 tons) is 81.9 rubles per 1 kg with VAT. When ordering a 20 foot container (14-16 tons) at 90.6 rubles including VAT. Chinese rolls will cost less (about 78-80 rubles per kg). The cost of bushings from 3 rubles per linear meter. The cost of a bobbin-cutting machine is from 850, 000 rubles to 1, 300, 000 rubles on average.

A set of equipment for making adhesive tape (a jumbo cutting machine, for cutting bushings, for loading adhesive tape, a small rewinding machine, a packaging machine) will cost about $ 32, 000. A mini-machine for unit rewinding and quality control of tape winding will cost about $ 880. On these sites you can take an interest in equipment and technology //, //

Documents, investments, profit

The official way of obtaining all the necessary licenses will take about two months and will cost you a fee. Registration of IP will cost about 7 thousand / p (including printing). Also, permits of the sanitary and epidemiological station and fire protection will be required. Based on the cost of equipment for the production of an incomplete cycle, initial lease, personnel costs, registration, utilities, transportation and other costs, the initial investment will amount to about 5 million rubles. The payback period will be from 12 to 14 months.

Personnel and premises requirements

The company should hire about 10 people: 2 managers, 3 specialists and 5 main workers. According to GOST, the volume of production facilities per worker should be at least 15 cubic meters. m, and the area of the premises is not less than 4.5 square meters. m. The height of the production room should be at least 3.5 m. The premises for the production of adhesive tape should include a part for installing equipment, a room for a warehouse of raw materials and finished products, an office room, a bathroom, etc. Shelf life of adhesive tape is approximately 6 months from the time of manufacture and must be stored under suitable conditions. The warehouse should be dry, clean, well ventilated. Temperature - 23 + -2 ° С, humidity n / a 80%. Adhesive tape is best kept away from heaters, flammable substances and organic solvents.

More information on the requirements for the production premises can be found on the website.

Sales Features

The main sales channels for packaging tape were already mentioned above, so the first step will be to attract wholesale buyers from various industries who need tape for packing cardboard boxes (food, perfumery, paint and varnish production, alcohol industry, etc.), since about 2 / 3 adhesive tapes in the world goes specifically to packing boxes. An important point is the advertising of products, which will help inform potential buyers and create the image of the company. The possibility of manufacturing adhesive tape with logos and on order will also expand the circle of consumers. Naturally increase sales development of production technology, the release of new products, discounts.
